~5/21 update~

Loved ones,

We are at the 1-month countdown, and we are so excited to see you all! We wanted to share a few more details to help you fine-tune your plans and your packing:

Arrival

If you are arriving in Thauvenay by train (either to Tracy-sur-Loire or Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire) and you have already purchased your ticket, let us know when you plan on arriving/your train’s ETA. It’s likely that fellow attendees will also be on your train, and we’ll be able to coordinate your pickup! You are welcome to arrive at any time on June 19 or thereafter!

Meals

Friday 6/20 and Saturday 6/21 (the day before and the day of the ceremony), we will have formal dinner for everyone at the house.

We will also be having additional, more casual meals at the house (see below for full schedule). We have tentatively counted everyone in for these (based on the travel schedules you have provided to us), however if you would like to venture off for a romantic, festive, and/or debaucherous night out, we certainly encourage you to do so! There are some wonderful restaurants and vineyards in the area if you’d like to make reservations. Kindly just let us know by Sunday 6/1 if you would like to opt out of any of the Thursday, Sunday, or Tuesday dinners, so we can adjust the headcounts accordingly.

The only night we will not have dinner at the house is on Monday 6/23. We have included a list of nearby restaurants below that should be open that evening. We encourage you to peruse and put together a little group to explore. Note that sometimes the hours are slightly more restrictive than in the US, so make sure to double check.

Here is a brief run-down of the meals we will serve at the house: Let us know us know if there are any you won’t attend, and we will adjust the headcount.

If you are staying at Thauvenay, breakfast will be available for you every day.

Thursday 6/19:
  • seafood dinner

Friday 6/20:
  • lunch sandwiches
  • formal dinner

Saturday 6/21:
  • lunch sandwiches
  • formal dinner

Sunday 6/22:
  • casual dinner

Monday 6/23:
(no dinner)

Tuesday 6/24:
  • casual dinner

“Dress Code”

Thank you all so much for travelling all the way to Thauvenay to celebrate with us!
  • There is no strict dress code for the ceremony on Saturday, we encourage you to wear what you feel good in, and what makes sense for a wedding in France in June [sundresses, cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, 18th-century rococo eveningwear, suits, ties, no ties, bolo ties, jackets, no jackets, tails, linen, colors, florals, sequins, lace, brocade, jacquard, sandals, dress shoes, loafers, sunglasses]. We will be outside on the lawn, so make sure to bring appropriate footwear.
  • In addition to Saturday’s ceremony, you can bring a nicer outfit for Friday’s dinner as well, as that will also be on the more formal side.
  • Other than Friday and Saturday evenings, the rest of our time will be quite casual. Make sure to pack swimwear, clothes for biking, walking, yoga, etc., and fun clothes to dance in.
  • Days should be warm enough for swimming, but nights/mornings can be quite cool (in the 50s and 60s), so make sure to bring a warm layer or two!
